In response to the escalating situation we are all facing due to the COVID 19 virus we have teamed up with local entrepreneurs who sew and have started to produce face masks.
The face masks will be donated to our health care workers and the vulnerable members of our community who are facing major shortages at this time. Although these masks aren’t medical grade, they can be washed and reused as a cover for the N95 masks and they can also fit filters. These 100% cotton masks can also be used to help mitigate the spread of COVID 19 by preventing droplet transmission amongst vulnerable members of our community such as those who are residing in long term care facilities and staying in homeless shelters across the city.
We’ve started doing this project of our own accord and we will continue doing what we can with the resources we have at the moment, but we're running low on suitable fabric , which is 800+ count cotton. So, if you'd like to help out, the cost of each mask works out to $4. If you have the resources and would like to 'donate' a mask to those who are in need in the community via The Wanderly, you can do so below.
100% of the donation will go towards the production costs of the masks.
We are eternally grateful to everyone for their support.
Much Love, The Wanderly
Please email us at email@example.com if you can sew and would like to join the team, if you know of any specific care facilities in need at this time or if you are a health care provider and in need of a mask.
Please note that these masks are not for purchase, they are to be donated to health care workers and vulnerable community members.
A special thanks to State the Label for making a digital pattern available to download online HERE. They have a great tutorial video on their site if you would like to make your own!
